im getting contacts soon because i HATE HATE HATEEEEEEEEEEEE my glasses. (so dont say “just wear ur glasses”) I wear a lot of eye makeup.. eye primer, eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, eyeliner pencil, mascara… you know all that. (and dont just say “dont wear eye makeup” because i LOVEE how it makes my eyes dramatic and pop out) and I’m worried because i REALLY REALLY REALLY dont want an infection!
Any suggestions for wearing eye makeup with contacts on??? Are there contacts that help stop infections? Are there certain types of eye makeup that are for people who wear contacts or dont cause irritation???

I’m not sure where you got the idea that you can’t wear any of the makeup with your contacts – you absolutely can. As long as youre not putting the eyemakeup ON your eyeball or IN YOUR EYE (and i do mean in your eye, i know people line the inside of the lids with eyeliner, that’s not what im talking about…i mean be careful not to get any on the contact…you shouldn’t be putting eyemakeup on that part of your eye to begin with) there’s no reason not to wear ay of that makeup.
Personally, I prefer to put my contacts in before i put on the makeup – both so I can see clearly and because the saline solution you use to put the contacts in can make you tear a tad and cause your makeup to run. Other than that, the makeup shouldn’t be any kind of issue.
In general, if you’re worried about infection, a nurse with my opthamologist gave me the best advice – wash all of your eye makeup off with baby shampoo (like the johnson and johnson kind. just put a bit on your hands, lather it up, and wash your eyes off like you would with makeup remover). It takes everything off and does a fabulous job of preventing bacteria and infection.
