im getting contacts soon because i HATE HATE HATEEEEEEEEEEEE my glasses. (so dont say “just wear ur glasses”) I wear a lot of eye makeup.. eye primer, eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, eyeliner pencil, mascara… you know all that. (and dont just say “dont wear eye makeup” because i LOVEE how it makes my eyes dramatic and pop out) and I’m worried because i REALLY REALLY REALLY dont want an infection!
Any suggestions for wearing eye makeup with contacts on??? Are there contacts that help stop infections? Are there certain types of eye makeup that are for people who wear contacts or dont cause irritation???

I’m not sure where you got the idea that you can’t wear any of the makeup with your contacts – you absolutely can. As long as youre not putting the eyemakeup ON your eyeball or IN YOUR EYE (and i do mean in your eye, i know people line the inside of the lids with eyeliner, that’s not what im talking about…i mean be careful not to get any on the contact…you shouldn’t be putting eyemakeup on that part of your eye to begin with) there’s no reason not to wear ay of that makeup.
Personally, I prefer to put my contacts in before i put on the makeup – both so I can see clearly and because the saline solution you use to put the contacts in can make you tear a tad and cause your makeup to run. Other than that, the makeup shouldn’t be any kind of issue.
In general, if you’re worried about infection, a nurse with my opthamologist gave me the best advice – wash all of your eye makeup off with baby shampoo (like the johnson and johnson kind. just put a bit on your hands, lather it up, and wash your eyes off like you would with makeup remover). It takes everything off and does a fabulous job of preventing bacteria and infection.

I am working on a home improvement project and want to redo some stairs. I would like to just remove the top and front boards of each step and leave the risers in tact, but the boards seem to be glued together. Is there a way that we can reduce the strength of the glue the constructors used without damaging the wood of the risers?

sorry, no, any thing that would dissolve the glue (which is REALLY hard after it has set up) would really damage the wood. your only choice is to remove the unwanted wood as gently as possible (if there is room an excellent choice is a Japanese saw-there are several types-but all are very thin and have straight teeth) then refinish the remaining wood (sand/paint/stain/etc.)
glue is used when it is intended that the parts forever remain together. if you’re dealing with solid wood it’s not too bad, if dealing with plywood or OSB then expect it to really tear the wood up.

The following are a few tips on how to apply eye shadow.
The cosmetics that is used for providing colour to the eye lids of a person is known as the eye shadow.
Eye shadow normally comes in complementary shades of three colours. The shades of eye shadow can be used depending on the requirement of the dramatic effect of the user.
Eye shadow is generally available as:
1. powders which come in compact cases or
2. creams in the form of sticks or pencils or
3. paints in the form of tube that will have a creamy effect when applied but gives a powdery effect once it dries
A person can also opt for two types of finish while choosing an eye shadow. They are the matt finish and the frost finish.
The lightest of the shades in the chosen eye shadow should be used first. This should be applied on to the upper part of the eyes, lining along the bone of the eye brow.
Next, the medium shade of the colour should be applied to the eye lids. One can apply this by beginning with inner corner of the lids and gently stroking the colour to outer edges. After that, use the finger for blending the colours of the eye shadow near crease
Finally, use darkest shade for adding depth and contouring to the eye lids. Using this will help to have the look of a smokey eye. This also should be applied by starting with inner corner and finishing off at outer edge of the eyes. The dark shade can be applied to the edge of the eyes in a slightly higher amount.
Once again, the colours must be blended and lines must be softened using the tips of the finger.
